It’s not quite as good as Roomba’s obstacle detection — it sometimes confused a pile of Cheerios for a charging cable and avoided them — but it’s much better than the Roborocks that rely on non-camera obstacle detection.

Pet hair can be challenging for vacuums with limited suction or brush designs prone to tangling. The Shark AI Ultra and Lefant M210 are engineered for pet-friendly cleaning, boasting advanced suction and features designed to minimize maintenance when dealing with fur and dander.

This robot vacuum and mop is on par with other high-performing Shark vacuums. The standout features are definitely its cleaning ability, quiet operation, and user-friendly app. If some of the other options on this list had you feeling a bit like Goldilocks, with some sounding a bit too feature- or tech-heavy, or others sounding a bit too stripped down, this Shark model is a great middle ground.

My biggest frustration with apps is maps that are fiddly to update and / or crash and must be rebuilt constantly. Most vacuums now have voice control (see FAQs), but some offer more in-depth control, such as telling Alexa to have the robot clean twice under the dining room table.

It does create a lot of dirty water though, and is a little slow because it'll wash its mop pads multiple times per cleaning session. Elsewhere, it boasts an excellent app and the vacuuming is strong, too.

Combo models might also have mops that can kick out from the side of the vacuum to get closer to the sides of rooms.
